Never be Embarrassed About Online Dating

It’s the most human thing in the world to want to have a special partner in life.

That’s why it’s worth the effort to make sure you have great photos, a stellar bio, and sign up on the best online dating sites.

The payoff can be great. In fact, it can change your life.

In working with our female clients over 50, my sense is that quite a few still feel a stigma about being online — that it seems  “desperate” or that it’s somehow unseemly to go searching into the vast world of the Internet for love and affection.

I salute women who take their love life into their own hands. Who know what they want and take action to reach their relationship goals.

Sure, being online can be discouraging. You might get rejected. Or ghosted. Or it can take a long while to find the perfect match – or indeed, any suitable match.

But the process is entirely worthwhile — and necessary — if you hope to meet one of the good guys. It takes perseverance and skill — and signing up for an online dating workshop or having a dating coach (hello!) can certainly help boost your chances and your confidence.

The stigma of online dating is disappearing, thanks in great part to the pandemic. According to a report by Tinder, the past two years have been the busiest time for online dating. Almost 70% of singles say they find it more liberating to meet new people online and 60% feel less judged about being online.

The next time you are feeling squeamish about being online, consider the fact that more than 50 million North Americans use online dating apps. Chances are most of the single people you know are online or thinking about going online.
